So is it true that it will not “connect” with an older snugride stroller? I would hate to have to buy a new stroller when our old one works perfectly well.
We just purchased the Graco Snugride and were trying to install it in my Nissan Sentra. We followed all of the instructions (even using the LATCH system) and no matter how snug the base is in the car seat we noticed that it will lift up from the seat. It doesn't move side to side or forward but it lifts up easily. Is this normal or are we doing something incorrectly?
Yes, the manual clearly lists a 35″ height limit. On the plus side, with the insert, the lowest harness strap slots are just over 6″ tall. You can also re-route the crotch strap clip back through the second slot to shorten it for preemies. So, the fit on the Huggable Images preemie doll is better than the Snugride 30.
Also, to clarify, there is a “dual zone” recline indicator that allows older babies to be LESS reclined than newborns (as opposed to more reclined, like I said in the video). The seatbelt lockoff is similar to the one in the Graco Snugride 35 base, rather than the Snugride 30 base that lacks such a lockoff.
