After two intense years, hundreds of tests with families, doctors and at test institutes BabyBjorn introduces the BABYBJORN Baby Carrier Miracle.
Over 30 million babies have been carried in BabyBjorn baby carriers to date, and this new carrier, with its innovative design, is the embodiment of 50 years of know-how. The Baby Carrier Miracle ergonomics are optimal, as the design provides flexible carrying through easy adjustments allowing rapid weight distribution and pressure point relief - with your child still in the baby carrier.
The Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier One is equipped with a sturdy waist belt and padded, form-fitting shoulder straps to make it comfortable for carrying a growing child from newborn up to the age of three years. The waist belt allows you to support the child’s weight on your hips, and avoid back and shoulder discomfort. You can vary between four ergonomic carrying positions throughout the period of use, with your child sitting in either the normal or wide leg position.
BabyBjörn Baby Carriers are designed to strengthen the infant-parent bond and can be used from birth. Indeed, because the first few weeks of life are critical to an infant’s development, BabyBjorn Baby Carriers are designed to provide proper support for a newborn’s head, neck, spine and hips. BabyBjorn carriers support the newborn in the inward facing position for close, tummy-to-tummy contact with mom or dad, and the built-in head support provides important head and neck stabilization. BabyBjörn Baby Carriers also hold babies’ hips in the optimal position — the abducted position (or spread legs).
There have been some suggestions that the position that the Bjorn seats baby in can be bad for the of their hips and spine, but nothing has been proven and as others have said- it should be fine in moderation. I chose to use other (wider bottomed) carriers for my 's comfort- I certainly wouldn't be comfortable being supported by my crotch, so I don't know why I would expect them to be.
